Risk management is legislated by the MFMA and as such all municipalities should design and implement an effective risk management process. This Unit Standard is for all people involved in municipal financial management. Persons credited with this unit standard are able to:
- Apply the core concepts of risk management in a South African municipality.
- To inform policy decision and strategic decision-making processes about the importance of risk management in municipalities.
- Understand the concept of COSO 2017 in aligning risk management and performance management.
