The objective of this program is to equip municipal financial managers and finance officials with the knowledge and practical skills required to apply GRAP reporting principles within a municipal environment. The course aims to strengthen the ability of participants to prepare credible financial reports that comply with accounting standards and provide reliable financial information to municipal leadership and oversight structures.

Financial reporting in accordance with GRAP standards plays a critical role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and consistency in the management of public resources. Accurate financial reports enable municipal councils, management, oversight committees, and external stakeholders to understand the financial position and performance of municipalities and make informed decisions regarding financial sustainability and service delivery.
