The objective of this program is to equip municipal officials and financial managers with the knowledge and practical skills required to apply supply chain management principles within a municipal environment. The course aims to strengthen the ability of participants to manage procurement processes effectively while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks governing municipal financial management.

Supply chain management plays a critical role in ensuring that municipalities procure goods and services efficiently, transparently, and at the best possible value. Effective SCM systems support service delivery by ensuring that the right goods and services are acquired at the right time, cost, and quality. Sound supply chain management practices also reduce the risk of irregular expenditure, corruption, and procurement inefficiencies.

Through this program, participants will develop an understanding of supply chain management policies, procurement procedures, and governance mechanisms that guide municipal procurement activities. The course also strengthens the ability of financial managers and officials to ensure that procurement decisions support municipal strategic priorities while maintaining fairness, competitiveness, and transparency.
